Jessica Sly

Jessica Sly grew up immersing herself in the books of her school and church libraries—soaking up the adventure, the romance, the fantasy, and the history. These creative worlds, characters, and plots stoked her own imagination. While English didn’t start out as her favorite subject, she began crafting her own fiction narrative in seventh grade and soon took a special interest in all things grammar. From then on, she filled notebook upon notebook with stories until her passion led her to major in English with the dream of being an author.

Though a Minnesota girl born and bred, Jessica currently resides in the rolling hills of Tennessee, working as a copy editor and living the (mostly) snowless Southern life with her sassy cat, Leia. When not writing, she enjoys watching movies, trying out new knitting patterns, playing the piano, or finding the next great restaurant. She’s also a nerd through and through: Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Disney animation, video games—you name it.

A member of ACFW, Jessica is a 2020 ACFW Genesis Award winner and is the winner of the 2020 Mountain Brook Fire Award. Her debut novel dives into Edwardian England in the midst of Irish-English conflict—wrapping readers in mystery, magicians, murder, and a speculative twist.

To get updates on her writing process and other shenanigans, you can connect with her on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest at @jessicaslyauthor or check out her website at jessicasly.com. She’d love to hear from you!
